For the little history:
The Kota masks, originating from Gabon and the Republic of Congo, are emblematic of the Kota ethnic group, a group of people sharing similar cultural and linguistic roots. Historically used in rituals and tribal ceremonies, these masks play a crucial role in initiation rites, community celebrations, and ancestor worship.
The Kota are mainly known for their sculptural figures called "mbulu-ngulu," renowned for their distinctive shapes, often characterized by oval faces and diamond-shaped bodies, and are made from wood covered with precious metals like brass or copper, giving them a bright and powerful appearance. The sculptural figures are particularly celebrated, acting as guardians of the relics and ancestral spirits, stored in sacred receptacles called "Bwete".
Beyond their aesthetic aspect, these masks embody communication with the spiritual world, offering protection, wisdom, and guidance. They attest to the importance of tradition, collective memory, and respect for ancestors within Kota communities, highlighting their deep connection with their heritage and natural environment.

Usually, it takes 3–7 days to fulfill an order, after which it’s shipped out. The shipping time
depends on your location, but can be estimated as follows:

What’s your return policy?
We have a 14-day return policy, which means you have 14 days after receiving your item to request a return.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.
Do you offer refunds?
Refunds are only offered to customers that receive the wrong items, damaged items or according to our return policy. We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.If more than 15 business days have passed since we’ve approved your return, please contact us at niokolocontact@gmail.com.
Can I exchange an item for a different size/color?
At this time, we don't offer exchanges. If you’re unsure which size would fit better, check out our
sizing charts—we have one for every item listed on our store, in the product description section.
Though rare, it's possible that an item you ordered was mislabelled. If that’s the case, please let
us know at niokolocontact@gmail.com within 14 days after receiving your order. Include your
order number and photos of the mislabeled item, and we’ll send you a new one, or issue a
refund!
